Let’s celebrate neurodiversity through the Arts 2026

21st Apr 2026

This week we having our annual neurodiversity & inclusion celebrations at Lusk JNS. Our annual inclusion assembly will take place on Friday (24th) and everyone is invited to dress up in anything they wish, to represent their individuality. This could be a sports or club kit,  clothes with their favourite colours or patterns, or just clothes which they feel comfortable in. Children are invited to bring in any donation (suggested €3) , with all funds raised going towards a SEN project and/ or SEN charity, as will be chosen by the student council.

This week coincides with World Autism Month and a designated United Nations Day of Observance. We are an inclusive school and support differences in all its forms.
Children will learn about how our amazing brains all work differently resulting in our experiences of the world differing also.  We will be reading about various people who have very special talents as well as additional needs such as autism, ADHD etc. and how they used their strengths in the area of the Arts. We will discuss how we can understand others who are different to ourselves and support  each other in our daily lives.

As we are again linking in with our Creative schools initiative, we look forward to a week of very special  art, music, drama and SPHE lessons. We also have our TY students coming from Lusk Community school to help us in our endevours.

Please check our website next week for photos and search 'inclusion' for previous inclusion assemblies from years gone by. It’s always a memorable week.
