Its Maths week @ Lusk JNS this week! Maths Week Ireland is an all-island initiative promoting positive attitudes towards maths and highlighting the importance of maths in our lives since 2006.
As well as listening to maths-based stories and engaging in problem solving in the classrooms, we are attempting to complete a whole school project ‘100 Squares of Maths’. We hope the children can use their maths eyes to take photos of every number from 1-100 and email it in to their teacher or the school office@luskjns.ie One photo per number will be selected and printed off to stick on the 100 square poster. Let’s see how far we get!
Also, in an effort to show the children that ‘maths is in everything’, we are asking them to bring in a game, toys or teddy that has maths on it such as colours, patterns, numbers, concepts etc. One item (or two contrasting items) per child can be brought in on Friday for assembly.
